This life revolves around the abstract musical form called Psytrance or Psychedelic trance music. It originated at the end of the 80s within the "full moon parties" organised by a temporary community of international travellers who settled on the beaches of the state of Goa in southern India. It spread worldwide, creating a network of thousands of people who've regularly gathered in events ranging from small underground parties in remote locations to big international festivals. Parties are focused on music and dance, yet characterised by a sort of syncretic spirituality, pacifistic delivery and an environmental attitude, and often include the use of various kinds of psychoactive substances.
